During the year 1966, Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba gave discourses which are brought out in this volume 6. It also contains an article written by Him for a magazine and excerpts from a few of His Sivaratri discourses. In Mumbai and Pune, Bhagawan spoke on subjects like cognising the source of joy and peace, fever of the senses and the cure, getting the wisdom and the power of the Infinite and India's glorious heritage. At Anantapur, on the annual day of Anantapur girls high school, He talked about His love for children, discipline and the role of newspapers. During the year He also visited Chennai and Tiruchi and shared His Divine Wisdom with the audience. In two Krishnashtami discourses, He spoke on conquering death, effort and dignity of goal, and the love of gopis. During Dasara, Bhagawan spoke on a variety of subjects including causes of illness, depression, veda chanting, mental purification, Prasanthi Nilayam township proposal, and spiritual anaemia and its cure. In His Birth Day discourse in Prasanthi Nilayam, He spoke about generating the fire of spiritual wisdom, fostering one's faith, qualities that should be cultivated, control of the tongue, and the glory of Om and women. In His discourses Swami spoke widely about God and man's relationship with God. His elucidations included idol worship, finding God, how to do namasmarana, steps to cultivate thirst for God, the concept of 'I am That', glory of God, worship that gives Divine strength, greatness of God's grace, transforming acts into worship, praying to God for guidance and the value of surrender. Aim of studies, importance of nourishment of mind, conduct of teachers and parents, sanathana dharma, path of a bhakta, unlimited freedom and discipline, primeval cosmic chaos, tuning the 'little will' to the Infinite Will and misconception of religion are some of the other topics covered by Bhagawan. Swami also talked about Nagamahasaya, Vivekananda, Ubhayabharati, the concentration of Edison, the dedication of Mrs.Macrae of New York, and Socrates' three-fold lens for seeing God. Stories told by Him include 'Lord's care for purity of motive', 'blind men and the elephant', Janaka's dream as a lesson for sadhana, 'tender heart', Bhojaraja, 'Kalidasa and the three coins' and 'swimming across the sea of life'.
