About Us

Sri Sathya Sai Sadhana Trust – Publications Division was formerly Sri Sathya Sai Books & Publications Trust, a public charitable Trust established on the 19th June 1983 with Divine Guidance and Blessings of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Aimed at achieving a noble objective, fostering of five cardinal human values, namely, Sathya (Truth), Dharma (Right Conduct), Shanti (Peace), Prema (Love) and Ahimsa (Non-violence) by the propagation of Bhagawan’s Divine Teachings via various publications spread over different media, this Publications Wing of Prasanthi Nilayam has been relentlessly on the task with the Divinely ordained Mission over the past more than a quarter century.

It made a modest beginning with a handful of books for the benefit of the visiting public. Over the years, the scope of activities increased substantially to meet the ever-increasing demand. The Trust took cognisance of the liking and aspirations of the public and the book stall started selling books dealing with a wide variety of aspects relating to spirituality and the teachings of Bhagawan.

The Publications Division is headed by the Convener, as the Chief Functionary, managing day-to-day administration. The Division’s activities range from printing and publishing of various books on Sai Literature, printing and publishing of the spiritual magazine Sanathana Sarathi in English and Telugu, production and sale of audio and video cassettes, CDs, DVDs, etc., providing an online Photoshop containing various selected photos, reflections of Divinity in the years gone by, online reporting of various events and activities in Prasanthi Nilayam apart from maintaining an exclusive portal channelizing Love, Peace and Harmony through Bhagawan’s Teachings.

The Division has a Publication Board to review and approve manuscripts and books for publication in English and Telugu authored by prominent writers on various themes. The Division has published several such books during the past two and a half decades.

The Division also undertakes the sale of publications in other Indian and Foreign languages after necessary review and approval. The Book Centre of the Division has now in its shelves more than 1000 titles of Books providing Sai Literature in 14 Indian and 26 Foreign Languages.

In order to meet the ever-increasing demand and growing activities, a new spacious building was inaugurated on the 23rd of August 2001 by Bhagawan. Situated on the slope of a hillock, in the south-western end of Prasanthi Nilayam, the structure stands majestically commanding a broad view of the vast expanse of green on the west. The hillock in the rear with its lush green top acts as a fitting background. This aesthetically designed building has no floor-wise division but only ‘levels’ as it is built on an incline taking advantage of the natural contour. The various units of the Book Trust located therein include a spacious Book Centre on the ground level, an Audio Visual Sales Centre and a Photo Processing Unit cum Sales Centre and on the mezzanine. The 3rd level of the building houses the Administrative Office, Office of Sanathana Sarathi Subscriptions, a Multimedia Room cum Theatre and a Library cum Reading Room for Sai Literature.

The opening of the above mentioned well equipped Library cum Reading Room within the main building has greatly facilitated hundreds of visiting devotees to get acquainted with old as well as latest Sai literature in all languages and to avail themselves of necessary facilities for taking down notes and make Photostat copies of extracts.

An annexe building, housing warehouses for Books and Audio Visuals and a Video Processing Unit was graciously blessed and inaugurated by Bhagawan on 30th Nov 2008.
