If one had to pick a single day in the calendar year to feast on the darshan (sight), sparshan (touch) and sambashan (speech) of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, it would probably be the day of Krishna Janmashtami. The day celebrated to mark the birth of Lord Krishna is a grand festival in Prasanthi Nilayam.

The day began with a beautiful darshan accompanied by the mellifluous singing of stotrams and songs by the students. Then, the animals from Sai's Vrindavana at Gokulam arrived to seek His blessings. Foremost among them was Sai Geeta and the sight of Swami feeding and petting the animals is sure to be a treat for the eyes. But it was not only fun on Krishnashtami! In the evening, Bhagawan delivered a heartfelt discourse elaborating on several unknown stories from the life of Krishna.
