Sahasra Poorna Chandra Shanthi Mahotsavam

An Avatar of God is a spectacular occurrence at any given time in history. The triple Avatars of Shirdi Sai, Sathya Sai and Prema Sai are in themselves unique in the history of the Universe. And now we are living here as contemporaries of the Sathya Sai Avatar, the second in the lineage of three avatars spanning over three hundred years.

According to the Hindu scriptures, a human being crossing 82 years in his physical frame is a remarkably significant occasion. This occasion comes with a greater import when he is sighting the full moon 1000th time during his physical sojourn. For the mortals it entails a greater significance. But, when it comes to The One who is credited with the onus of entire creation, the event is more than remarkable. Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, witnessing 1000 full moons in His physical frame by touching the 83rd year of His glorious sojourn on planet earth, makes it more significant, since it brings welfare to the whole Universe at large.

This Video brings to you the commemoration of this Grand event of Sahasra Poorna Chandra Darshana Mahotsavam that was held in Prasanthi Nilayam from 15th to 17th November 2008 in the Divine Presence. The mysterious significance attached, owing to the Divine stature of this festivity, does make the event a rarity that goes much beyond human perceptions. This is perhaps for the first time ever in history that an Avatar grants Poorna Chandra Darshanam! It is time for the humans, lucky being contemporaries, to thank their stars that we are here enjoying this auspicious time with Him.

Marking the symbolic significance of the ultra special occasion, was Bhagawan mounting the Golden Chariot, in all His Splendour and Glory "Brighter than a Million Suns," led by a glittering cavalcade.

How blessed are we that our Lord is here among us to bless us with His Darshan at such a significant moment in history!
