Reflections on 1973 Summer Discourses

Ever since our species became sapient, the quest for meaning has been foremost on our minds after self-preservation. On the one hand, we reign supreme in the animal kingdom but on the other, we are also victims of the human condition. Questions such as who am I, why am I here, wherefrom did I come, whereto am I going and how should I live have weighed on our minds since time immemorial. Though science, spirituality and philosophy have all shed light on the great mysteries of life and death, answers satisfying to the modern mind remain hard to find in a world that confounds even the wisest of men. In this book, we continue the age old quest for answers, using as our source material a series of thirty-two Divine Discourses of Swami, addressed to college students in the summer of 1973.
