Darshan (Prasanthi Nilayam, 1979) - Volume 4

1979 was among the last few years when the darshan sessions at Prasanthi Nilayam happened on the golden sands with cuckoos and crows providing the background music. The schedule then was far different from what followed in the later years. The bhajans would be held in the morning at 11 am after multiple darshan and interview sessions. A magical silence would descend over Prasanthi Nilayam throughout the time when Baba was out with the devotees.

1979 is also an important transitional year as far as the Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba's educational mission is concerned because it was at this time that the Men's College at Puttaparthi began functioning. Swami would spend long hours with the students, walking into their temporary hostel at the northeast end of the ashram without any fanfare or announcement. Even as the hostel, school and institute buildings were coming up, Swami blessed the students with opportunities galore.

Though the footage has been gathered across a month in 1979, this video endeavors to relive it as one magical day, complete with darshan, bhajan and student-interaction sessions. It is indeed a blessing that we are able to view and enjoy this rare footage, digitally mastered at the Prasanthi Digital Studios.
